James Siemens was born in Winnipeg, Canada, and undertook his initial undergraduate work at the University of Manitoba in Religious Studies and History. At the behecst of his then-archbishop, he moved to Montréal where he undertook a second undergraduate degree in theology, followed by a Master of Divinity degree at McGill University. James completed his doctorate in historical theology followed by a post-doctoral License in Divinity both at the University of Wales, Lampeter, and in 2012. He has a book and numerous articles in print, and his interests include Christology and eschatology, the computus, and late antique historiography. Outside of his Church and academic responsibilities, he enjoys spending time with his family and playing with bicycles.
